Hierarchy is a progressive electronic rock duo crafting immersive, high-energy songs built on haunting synths, cinematic guitar, and emotionally charged vocals. Rooted in faith but driven by curiosity, the band explores themes of secrecy, spiritual tension, and digital disconnection—with melodies that challenge the mind and move the body.
Formed in a makeshift studio under the stairs of a new home, Hierarchy is the decade-long creative vision of Sam and Chris—two longtime friends balancing demanding careers by day (as a creative director and a nurse anesthetist) and chasing musical transcendence by night. Their debut album, SUBROSA, released in April 2025, draws its name from a ritual in the honor fraternity where they met. The phrase—Latin for “under the rose”—represents what was hidden, sacred, and waiting to be heard.
Their sound fuses the emotional weight of early 2000s rock (think Breaking Benjamin and Evanescence) with the polish and scale of modern progressive giants like Tesseract and Haken. It’s heavy, melodic, and unapologetically introspective. Though early in their live journey, the duo is building toward performances as intentional and immersive as their recordings—combining glow, haze, and headspace with tightly constructed sonic layers.
Hierarchy is not here to scream above the noise. They're here to pull you into the quiet underneath it.
NEW ALBUM
SUBROSA
SUBROSA is the sound of a secret finally spoken aloud—born from a decade-long creative itch, hidden under day jobs and adult expectations. Named after a ritual from the honor fraternity where Chris and Sam met, the album and the band are both rooted in something sacred, personal, and overdue.
